Privacy policy
What we collect on this site, why, who else handles it, and how to ask us about it. Last updated 10 October 2026.
Who we are
This site is run by SiteTech Inc. (“SiteTech”, “we”), a web studio in Moncton, New Brunswick, Canada. You can reach us at info@websitetechnicians.ca or +1 (506) 850-2997. Questions about this policy, or about your personal information, go to that address.
What we collect
What you send us. When you use the contact form, the quote form or the custom package form, we receive what you type: your name, email address, business name, phone number if you give one, your message or notes, and the features you tick on the quote forms. We use it to reply to you, to prepare a quote and, if you become a client, to deliver the work.
Where you came from. If you accept advertising in the cookie banner and you arrive from one of our ads or a tagged link, your browser keeps the campaign tags (utm_source, utm_medium, utm_campaign), the page you were on and, for Google ads, the Google click ID in session storage, which is cleared when you close the tab. If you decline, none of this is kept. If you send a quote request while it is kept, those details are added to the email we receive so we know which ad produced it.
How the site is used. If you accept analytics in the cookie banner, we use Vercel Web Analytics to count visits and pages. It reports aggregate figures and does not use cookies to follow you from site to site. Our hosting provider also keeps standard server logs (such as IP address, browser type and the pages requested) to run and secure the site.
Advertising measurement. If you accept advertising in the cookie banner, the site loads a Google Ads tag. It lets Google measure whether a visit to our site followed one of our ads and whether a form was then sent. Google may set cookies or similar identifiers in your browser for that purpose and receives information about your visit, such as the page, your IP address and device details. Google’s handling of that data is described in its own privacy policy.
Form fields and the Google tag. If you have accepted advertising and you submit a form on our site, the Google tag may send Google a hashed version of the email address you typed (a one-way scrambled form, not the readable address), together with the page address, so Google can measure advertising results. As far as we have been able to test, it does not send the other form fields (name, phone, message). The chat assistant is not a form and is not read by this tag.
The chat assistant. On the home and pricing pages you can ask questions in a chat box. What you type there is sent to Anthropic, which writes the reply, and we do not keep it. Please do not put personal details in it. How Anthropic handles that data is described in its own privacy policy.
We do not sell personal information. We do not run a mailing list and we do not send marketing email to people who have only used a form on this site.
Who else handles it
- Vercel hosts the site and provides the analytics described above.
- Resend delivers form submissions to our inbox by email.
- Google provides the advertising tag described above.
- Anthropic writes the replies of the chat assistant described above, from what you type into it.
- Square processes payments and subscriptions when you pay through a Square payment link. Card details are entered on Square’s pages and never reach us. Square’s own privacy policy applies to that information.
These providers may store or process information in Canada, the United States or other countries, where the privacy laws can differ from those in your province.
How long we keep it
We keep enquiries for as long as we need them to answer you and follow up on a quote. If you become a client we keep the records of the work and the billing for as long as the relationship lasts and as long as the law requires us to keep business and tax records. When we no longer need personal information, we delete it or anonymize it.
Your choices and rights
You may ask us for a copy of the personal information we hold about you, ask us to correct it, or ask us to delete it, and you may withdraw your consent to our using it, subject to legal and contractual limits. Write to info@websitetechnicians.ca and we will answer within 30 days.
Cookie settings. The first time you visit, a banner asks you to accept or decline analytics and advertising. Nothing else is loaded until you answer, and the site works the same if you decline. Your answer is kept in your browser for about six months. You can change it at any time with “Cookie settings” in the footer of any page.
To limit advertising cookies, use your browser’s cookie settings or Google’s ad settings. Blocking them does not stop you from using the site or sending a form.
If you are not satisfied with our answer, you can contact the Office of the Privacy Commissioner of Canada (priv.gc.ca). Residents of Quebec can also contact the Commission d’accès à l’information du Québec.
Security
The site is served over HTTPS, form submissions are checked on the server before they are sent, and we do not write the content of your message into our logs. No online service is perfectly secure, so please do not put passwords or payment card numbers in a form.
Children
This site is for businesses. It is not directed at children and we do not knowingly collect their personal information.
Changes to this policy
If we change what we collect or how we use it, we will update this page and its date. The French version is at Politique de confidentialité.
